Bethel-Tate Local School District has earned the highest possible rating in Ohio’s 2026 Special Education Annual Rating, reflecting the district’s commitment to meeting the needs of students with disabilities.

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce awarded Bethel-Tate a “Meets Requirements” rating with an overall score of 4.00 out of 4.00, based on data from the 2024-2025 school year.

The annual rating evaluates how well school districts comply with federal special education requirements and measures outcomes for students with disabilities. Bethel-Tate earned the maximum score in both areas, with no corrective actions required.

“This is a wonderful accomplishment for our district! We are extremely proud of our teachers and their hard work and dedication,” said Mary Tucker, Director of Student Services. “Compliance is a critical part of serving students with disabilities, and our teachers work diligently throughout the year to ensure these important responsibilities are met. Their commitment to our students and our district does not go unnoticed.”

Interim Superintendent Dr. Christen Davis credited Mrs. Tucker and the district’s Student Services team for their leadership and commitment to student success.

“These results reflect the time, energy and dedication Mary and her team invest in supporting our students and staff,” Dr. Davis said. “Their leadership, along with the commitment of our teachers and intervention specialists, helps ensure students receive the services and support they need to succeed. I appreciate the work they do every day on behalf of our students.”

While celebrating the recognition, district leaders emphasize that the work of supporting students and strengthening educational opportunities continues.
