btms earns overall 5-star award graphic

Bethel-Tate Local School District is proud to announce that Bethel-Tate Middle School has been recognized with the Overall 5-Star Building Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce for the 2024-2025 academic year.

This distinguished honor is awarded to schools that exceed state standards across all six components of the Ohio School Report Card, including Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Early Literacy, Graduation, and College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness.

Bethel-Tate Middle School earned a perfect overall rating of 5-Stars, placing it among an elite group of just 283 buildings statewide to receive this recognition.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Middle School, as it has now earned a 5-Star rating for three consecutive years, demonstrating sustained excellence and a strong commitment to student success.

Superintendent Melissa Kircher said she is thrilled but not surprised that BTMS earned this prestigious award.

“This reinforces what we already know about our Middle School. I’m constantly impressed by the incredible dedication of our staff, the hard work of our students, and the support of families and the community,” she said. “Achieving this level of excellence once is impressive. Sustaining it year after year speaks volumes about the culture and commitment at Bethel-Tate Middle School. I can’t say enough about  how proud I am of Principal Dr. Christen Davis and her team.”

Dr. Davis also celebrated the accomplishment.

“We are extremely proud of our students and staff for their continued focus on growth, achievement, and doing their best every day,” she said. “This award is a direct result of the positive relationships, high expectations, and supportive environment we’ve built together.”

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce recognized a total of 47 districts and 283 buildings across the state with an Overall 5-Star rating this year, highlighting the exceptional work happening in schools like Bethel-Tate Middle School.
