Bethel-Tate Local Schools has been awarded a $30,000 grant through Ohio’s TechCred program to support professional learning for teachers focused on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance classroom instruction.
The grant was secured through the work of Heather Frost, Bethel-Tate Local School District’s Gifted Coordinator, and will fund specialized training through AI OWL in AI-Driven Differentiation, allowing at least 15 Bethel-Tate teachers to earn credentials in using AI tools to better personalize instruction for students.
Ohio’s TechCred program reimburses employers for technology-focused credentials that help employees build skills in emerging fields. Through this grant, the district will receive reimbursement of $2,000 per credential for up to 15 participants, totaling $30,000 in state funding to support educator training.
The training will help teachers:
Use AI tools to better differentiate instruction for students
Improve lesson planning and classroom efficiency
Earn credit towards gifted high quality professional development hours
Explore responsible and ethical uses of AI in education
Prepare students for a future shaped by rapidly evolving technology
Importantly, this opportunity allows Bethel-Tate Schools to expand professional learning for teachers without additional cost to the district, demonstrating the district’s continued commitment to securing outside funding that benefits students and supports classroom innovation.
If there is strong interest among staff, the district may pursue additional TechCred funding opportunities in future rounds, potentially expanding this training to even more Bethel-Tate educators.
Bethel-Tate Local Schools appreciates the initiative shown by staff members who seek out opportunities like this to bring additional resources and innovative learning opportunities to our district.
