Coach Mays Meet Recap:
Our Bethel-Tate Tigers Track & Field team competed at the Mariemont Invitational and continued to show progress across several event groups as we head into the league meet. Sasha Brandenburger led the way for the girls with two top-three finishes, placing 3rd in the 100m hurdles in 17.85 and 3rd in the high jump with a mark of 4’6”. She also added a strong 5th-place finish in the 200m dash in 28.87, showing her versatility across hurdles, jumps, and sprints.
In the throws, Noah Brock had a strong day for the boys, placing 3rd in discus with a throw of 122’3” and 5th in shot put with a mark of 37’2”. Levi Brock also competed in the throws, recording marks of 77’3” in discus and 28’10” in shot put. In the jumps, Sarah Bolick placed 9th in long jump with a mark of 12’5”, while Sarah Awe finished 17th at 9’5¼”.
Our distance group also had several important performances. Eli Selm placed 4th in the 3200m in 12:58.92 and ran a new 1600m PR of 5:47.76. Clara Reed placed 5th in the 3200m in 14:16.49 and 7th in the 1600m in 6:04.69. Tristan Speigel finished 8th in the 1600m in 5:20.26 and 9th in the 800m in 2:25.91, while Adelyn Fisher ran 6:50.16 in the 1600m.
We also saw solid efforts from our hurdle, sprint, and middle-distance athletes. Addison Johns placed 4th in the 300m hurdles in 54.70 and 8th in the 400m dash in 1:07.64. Sarah Bolick competed in the 300m hurdles, finishing in 1:01.80. In the girls 800m, Samantha Bolick broke the 3-minute barrier with a time of 2:57.19, and Annabel Reed ran 3:03.85. Our next meet is the league meet at Batavia High School, beginning Monday, May 11.
