Coach Mays Meet Recap:
This meet was a defining moment for Bethel-Tate Track & Field.
At the Southern Buckeye Championship, our athletes didn’t just show up—they showed out. Over two days of competition, they ran with purpose, fought for every place, and lifted each other to one of the most complete team efforts of the season.
The girls team finished 2nd overall with 112 points, led by clutch relays, smart distance racing, and dominant sprint efforts. The boys team claimed 5th place with 63 points, powered by big performances on the track and our lone field event title—Colin Morsbach’s win in the pole vault.

Here are a few of the standout stories from the meet:
Clara Reed was all heart. She helped secure a win in the 4x800m relay on Day 1, then returned on Day 2 to win the 3200m and take 2nd in the 1600m. Her ability to rise in every race is a hallmark of her leadership and resilience.
Raegin Jasontek set the tone for the sprint squad—winning the 100m, taking 2nd in the 400m, and leading off both the winning 4x200m and 4x400m relays. Her range and toughness anchored the entire girls’ effort.
Cori Mahan quietly stacked a huge day—2nd in the 100m, and a key presence in both sprint relay wins. Her consistency and confidence on the track are irreplaceable.
Peyton Thomas delivered when it mattered—helping win both the 4x800m and 4x400m relays, and clocking a personal best in the open 400m (1:07.89). Her growth and reliability were crucial to the team’s success.
Noah Mays turned in a championship-level performance—winning the 300m hurdles, and driving both the 4x200m and 4x400m to 2nd-place finishes. His edge and energy lifted every race he was in.
Colin Morsbach brought home our only field event win, clearing 11-0 to take 1st in the pole vault. His poise and execution gave the boys a huge spark and a vital 10 points.
This team continues to grow in the right ways—through commitment, belief, and showing up for one another. They proved they’re ready for more, and with Districts just ahead, the best may still be coming.
