Bethel-Tate Welcomes New Assistant Principal and Athletic Director

The Bethel-Tate Local School District welcomes Dan Simmons and Thomas Haas to the district. Mr. Simmons will serve as the Athletic Director and Mr. Haas is the new Assistant Principal at Bethel-Tate High School. 

Dan Simmons comes to Bethel-Tate after serving 26 years in West Clermont Schools where he was the athletic director/dean of students, head track coach, and assistant football coach at both Amelia Middle School and Glen Este High School. During his time as athletic director, Dan developed several new opportunities for student participation, and in 2011, he was awarded the OIAAA Sportsmanship Award from his peers across the State. Prior to his time in West Clermont, Dan spent two years as a juvenile counselor at Covington Area Day Treatment and two years coaching football at Turpin High School.

Dan has his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cincinnati in Psychology. He has been married to his wife Peggy for 27 years, and they have two children.

Tom Haas is familiar with the area having grown up in Batavia and Amelia. He has spent the last seven years as a mathematics and engineering teacher at Norwood High School. 

Tom holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Secondary Teaching – Integrated Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sand volleyball, running, and spending quality family time with his wife, three kids, and dogs.
