I assign homework because I believe it is a valuable tool in helping students make the most of their experience in school. Homework helps reinforce what was learned in class, prepares students for upcoming lessons, teaches responsibility, and helps develop positive study habits. A few homework assignments must be done at school under my supervision, but most can be done at home. I expect homework to be neat, completed, and turned in on the day due.  I will check all homework assignments and record them in my grade book. I will support good homework habits with praise and other incentives.

I believe that parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for their children. Therefore, I ask that you make homework a top priority at home, provide praise and support, and not allow your child to avoid doing homework. Please contact me if you notice a problem. If your child starts having a problem completing or turning in homework I will contact you early.

I really need your support of my expectations for your child, and I need for you to let your child know also that you support me and my classroom rules and standards. There is no doubt in my mind that parents are the most important people in a child's life. We need to work together, as a team, for the benefit of your child. I know that by working together we can insure that your child will have his or her most successful school year yet
