Neil Armstrong (1930- )
Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He was an astronaut on Apollo 11 and was
the first person to to set foot on the moon. This occurred on July 20, 1969

1980) Owens was a world famous track and field athlete who competed in
the Olympics.

1845) Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman) was a pioneer who traveled through
Ohio and the midwest and is best known for the apple trees and stories he left

She spent 18 years of her life in Cincinnati.
