The Bethel-Tate Arts Appreciation Fund

Giving Opportunity Established for Patrons of the Arts

Patrons of the fine arts now have a way to provide permanent support for expanded arts experiences in a rural community. The Bethel-Tate Arts Appreciation Fund (AAF) has been established through The Greater Cincinnati Foundation by a local resident.

About the Bethel-Tate Arts Appreciation Fund

The fund (officially known as The Bethel-Tate Arts Appreciation Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation) was established to enhance academic achievement and cultural awareness by financially supporting those events, projects, programs and activities that foster and encourage an appreciation for the arts through exposure and participation opportunities for the students of the Bethel-Tate Local School District. The AAF will enable Bethel-Tate students to participate in the fine arts “extras” that are limited locally, but readily available to students in more affluent school districts throughout the nation. Activities such as guest workshops and performing artists can open up a whole new world of appreciation of the fine arts for students.

These and associated opportunities can be quite costly in today’s overstretched school budgets which focus on mandated state curriculum requirements. This local fund will help pay for these opportunities, as well as enable investors with an artistic passion to focus on a specific cause.

If you’d like to give to the fund by using a credit card, click on the button and make sure to choose the “Bethel-Tate Arts Appreciation Fund” from the drop down menu.

Other Ways to Give

The fund accepts a wide variety of assets that can facilitate even the most complex forms of giving which include:

  1. Outright Gifts (cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, etc…)
  2. Bequest by Will
  3. Charitable Gift
  4. Charitable Remainder Trust
  5. Charitable Lead Trust
  6. IRAs for those at least 70 1/2 years old (through 12/31/07)
    1. All such charitable gifts qualify for tax advantages available under federal law.

A local five-person community committee with interest in the fine arts will recommend distribution of grant funds by The Greater Cincinnati Foundation through an objective application process.

Although the fund currently sits at $5,000, the fund’s Advisory Committee hopes to see it grow to at least $10,000 in the near future. As the fund grows, so will the opportunities afforded Bethel-Tate students. Anyone passionate about the arts is encouraged to consider this new fund.
